6 Days Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East Safari
Tsavo east safafri is popular for its immensity, its wild side and the unique African atmosphere of the eastern part with its red soil and baobabs. Indeed, while it is less easy to find animals than in other national parks in Kenya, it is the search of the animals that make the Tsavo East safari exciting.
TSAVO PARK, EAST AND WEST
Tsavo National Park was originally a single huge park, but now the Nairobi – Mombasa highway and the railroad cuts through the park. In fact there are now two parks, because animals can hardly cross these two transport links.
Consequently, the landscapes are very different from one part to the other. Indeed, Tsavo West has hills and rocky escarpments interspersed with lava flow and is quite bushy. However, Tsavo East has large rolling grassy plains and it is characterized by its bright red soil.
AMBOSELI
Amboseli is known for it’s many herds of African elephants that usually walk in the savannah of the park. Also, at the Amboseli you can see giraffes, leopards, lions, buffaloes and other wildlife that inhabit this ecosystem. Also, the many water bodies in the Amboseli are frequented by birdlife – making the park a birdwatchers haven.
In addition, in the background, you can admire the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. This summit, the highest point in Africa (3,962 meters above sea level), is located on Tanzanian territory. However, from the Amboseli Park, you can see its iconic silhouette.
