Also, you will see the Big Five plus rare species like the Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and oryx. Topping it off you enjoy a fantastic assortment of birdlife including pelicans and flamingos.

The detailed planning for the itinerary

Starting off, you’ll head over the central highlands viewing coffee, tea, sisal and pineapple plantations,complete with a startling view of Mt. Kenya. Then on to Samburu National Reserve, this sun-draped park offers a wonderful variety of unusual game like the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Plus, opportunities to view more commonly known wildlife like leopard, cheetah, lion, and buffalo.

We then arrive at one of the most beautiful of Kenyan parks, Lake Nakuru National Park, home to astonishing birdlife as well as lion, black and white rhino, leopard and hippo. Moreover, you will view flamingos as well as other birdlife.

Accordingly, your 6-day safari adventure next brings you up close to the richest eco-system in the natural world – the Masai Mara. At the Masai Mara, you’ll enjoy plenty of large and small wildlife on the great acacia accented savannahs.

Furthermore, during the migration season (July – October) you’ll be treated to the unforgettable sight of thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and zebra making their way across the river. Consequently, as a special finale to your safari, there will be an opportunity to visit with and learn about the Maasai people with an optional visit to their village.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

Pick up from Nairobi airport / Nairobi hotel. Proceed via the central highlands of Kenya with views of coffee, tea, sisal, pineapple, and subsistence farming activities. Local African homesteads dot the red soiled slopes of this region. View Mount Kenya with its snow-capped peaks along the safari route. Afternoon game viewing drives the Samburu, Shaba and buffalo springs reserves. Overnight at your Samburu safari lodge or tented camp. Day 2: Samburu

  The day shall be spent with game viewing drives / relaxing interludes at the Samburu game reserve. Game viewing drives in this dry and scenic game reserve are concentrated along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. This is where most wildlife is found. Day 3: Samburu - Lake Nakuru

Early morning game and scenery viewing drive as you exit the Samburu. There shall be a stop to view the Thompson falls at Nyahururu. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, birdlife heaven, at the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Birdlife abounds with few flamingos seen together with pelicans and other bird species. The lake is host to the black and white rhino species, warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffe, hippopotamus and many more. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Accommodation: Sarova Lion Hill or similar

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

  An early bird and game viewing drive at the Lake Nakuru National Park Proceeds to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive Masai Mara in time for an afternoon game viewing drive. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Accommodation: Keekorok Lodge or similar

Day 5: Masai Mara

Today shall be a game viewing extravaganza! Masai Mara Game Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one-stop-shop for game viewing activities. We shall traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game. We shall visit the Mara river where we may watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July – October) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Accommodation: Keekorok Lodge or similar

Day 6: Masai Mara - Nairobi

Early pre-breakfast game viewing drive. Extra final game drive as you exit the Masai Mara. Depart the Masai Mara for Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon. Safari finishes at approximately 4:30PM Meal Plan: Breakfast. Accommodation: Not included
